Found a site which is described as Lancia Scraps Rather than the nice shiny restored or carefully preserved cars, it shows the fate which has befallen many of these beautys.

Heres a flaminia pininfarina Coupe which has acquired a nice patina

Probably not to many tears shed for the Autobianch1/Lancia A112 bt it is a nice colourful scrapyard landscape

It's a possibility that the one I saw was a Flavia - but I'm no expert on Lancias.... but I did always fancy a Stratos when I was younger :)

The Lancia Flavia has a "sticky-out" nose/grill, dual round headlights

Focusing in on that area you probably have the right id with a Flavia

..If it was a convertible it coulds have been a Flavia Vignale of which there appears to be only 3 licensed in the UK, so a very rare sight :)

If I see it again, I'm going to block the road and get out with my notebook and proper camera and take copious notes and photos. I do know that it was a convertible, and I do know that I liked what I saw :-D

I've sold a few of those over the years but a funny tale is about one of my mates, he had one parked on my used car site for months, needed a lot of rust fixed but he never got around to it.
One winter evening he arrived out of the blue and said he'd entered it for sale in the motor auction at Leominster 50+ miles away, he drove it up there and I followed him to give him a lift back.
When he got out at Leominster he was doubled up with pain, said his arse was frozen, the roof had leaked and filled the driver's seat with water which had frozen into a solid ice block after several days of hard frost. :rofl2:
Man is, by nature, a lazy beast, he does not need twice encouraging to do nothing.

Here is one i saw heading east on the A27 around Worthing today but what is it?, looks Talbot or Opel Manta ish to me but i was too busy snapping to look at it.
I like it a lot though, very smart looking.

Ah, thank you.
It was a very pretty car, the rather poor photo doesnt do it justice.

Don't worry, as it is raining it will rust to nothing by the time it gets home.

By the looks of it i think the trailer it was being carried on was some sort of sacraficial anode, not sure what metal would be more reactive than finest Italian steel but the owner of this beast managed to find it.
