Again, not seen one for eons now...
I would really like a good 480 or 480 Turbo, it's one car I've always wanted but never found a decent one. That old rust issue. The electrics on a 480 make French electrics seem a paragon of reliabilty too..

Two "in the wild" shots of a nice pair of 1930's cars at Paxton Hall near Berwick-Upon-Tweed today. It was a stop off point for "The Flying Scotsman Rally" organised by the Endurance Rally Association 15th-17th April 2016.

On Sunday they can be seen at these places

Knockhill Circuit 08:30 to 10:30
Yetts O Muckhart B934 09:00 to 10:45
Kenmore Kenmore Hotel 11:00 to 12:45
Loch Tummel 11:30 to 13:15
Pitlochry Athol Palace 12:00 to 13:45
Loch Freuchie 13:50 to 15:30
Gleneagles 15:00 to 16:45

Not sure if they are just similar style or the same model. Reg plate on no 2 not clear enough to get what the DVLA thinks it is :)

.....another TV spot! This time from CountryFile in Northumberland, retracing the steps of LS Lowry, when he used to spend holidays on the Northumberland Coast being chaffeured around to do his sketching, in one of these

I owned a Volvo 144 when I was serving in Cyprus... Great cars... Built like tanks and ideal for the terrible roads on the island at the time. It meant I could keep my MG Metro pristine for when it came home to the UK :D

Spotted an unusual classic from 1971 while out and about, well worthy of an appearance in another collection thread, as well as this thread. Went back with labrador and camera in hand and......
it had gone!

So no original photography just yet, So what was the colour?
Pastel Green 1959 - 1984,Bronze Green 1959 - 1988,Deep Olive Green 1970 - 1971
Lincoln green 1970 - 1984,Wildlife green 1972 0nly, Australia only
Java Green - Stage I only,
Marine Blue 1958 - 1987,Tuscan blue 1972 - 1987,Pageant Blue Stage I only
Limestone 1959 - 1984
Poppy Red - 1959 - 1968,Masai Red 1970 - 1985, Stage I & County models only
Russet Brown - SIII County model only
Sand 1959 - 1984
Bahama Gold - 1971 - 1989
Inca Yellow Stage I only
Mid grey 1959 - 1984,dark grey (burnt gray) 1959 - 1968

Sandglow "Camel trophy Yellow"
Well best bet would be "Sand", although Bahama Gold, or Sandglow "Camel trophy Yellow" sounds nice.

R.J Searle of Sunbury on Thames had a hand in the finished vehicle.

So what was the vehicle I failed to get a picture of?

Despite being somewhat basic, there was something rather elegant and stylish about early Range Rovers, all down to David Bache. The current big lump is just styling clutter, with no theme, no lines, and less pleasing to look at than a Metrocab - in a word, vulgar . . . so probably keeping many owners more than happy.
