Now if ever there was a car that looked like a man had just cut the roof off and wheeled it into the showroom its that one, its no looker is it.
I think i would describe it as looking like BL.

.....there's quite an "interesting" catalogue of work from Crayford....

For example.....The Heinz 57 Wolseley Hornets full story on the link but here's the first bit...
Perhaps the most fascinating chapter in Crayford’s long history is the Heinz 57 story. There are so much to be told about the competition, the 57 Wolseley Hornet Mini prize convertibles, and what has happened to these 57 cars since they were won, it could fill a sizeable book.

Heinz Foods of Wembley had a history of giving away cars as competition prizes before and since, but the 1966 “Greatest Glow on Earth” soup competition would be unique in offering 57 bespoke convertibles that would never be available to the public by any other means. The competition was to have been launched in 1965. The Heinz marketing people had seen the attention the ground breaking new Mini convertible Crayford was getting. MGM studios had already cast the car in a starring role in a film with Albert Finney and Susan Hampshire, called “Night must Fall”, partly filmed in Westerham..........

Nothing car related, but spotted an E plate Leyland Olympian with Alexander RH bodywork today. Well...heard long before I saw it (which is why I did), not often you hear an Cummins L10 engine thundering along these days. One of those lovely exhaust notes you feel through the ground and reverberating in your chest rather than hear half of. Got to love a stupidly big six cylinder turbo diesel with marginal silencing...

Looked immaculate (from the distance I was at anyway) and had passengers on board so looks to be a preserved vehicle but still earning its keep. No school signs either which for a vehicle of that age is a sure sign it's pampered and preserved rather than an old banger really.

Really miss getting to drive E131DRS back up north...or sitting on the back seat right next to the tailpipe while it's thundering along at 60 (honest...) on a dual carriageway...
Current fleet:
06 Peugeot Partner Escapade 1.6HDi, 88 Renault 25 Monaco, 85 Sinclair C5, 84 Trabant 601S, 75 Rover 3500, 73 AC Model 70.

...I have a sneaking suspicion that may have been parked there by me if that's at the show I think it is...

I've been told the listing problem when parked up has now been sorted though! Ah, the joys of old air suspension...

The Atlantean to the left has a sticky throttle pedal which makes fine control a nightmare...

I'd imagine the driver was a bit chilly unless well wrapped up...

And there was me thinking it'd broken down there in the Autumn and they'd only just got back up to it in the springtime to push it out of the snowdrift :rofl2:

If that car follows the normal layout the driver would be frozen from the waist up, and roasted from the waist down! Mind you, the grin would be HUGE!

I confess that I'd be enjoying the scenery far more than the car....

I'd be contemplating climbing those mountains...
