309 heater fan control

Unread post by Doc »

The variable speed cabin fan has stopped working on my 1992 309 GRD and having tested the motor can only assume the rotary control/variable resistor circuit board is the problem. Any one out there suffered the same problem and if so does Peugeot still sell replacement parts?

Best bet is to find a second hand unit from the yards. This will be a fraction of the price from the main dealers. Aslo you will discover how to remove the unit on yours.
From what I can remember, you dismantle parts of the dashboard and disconnect the heater control cables.

Cheers Kevin,
Local Peugeot main dealer wanted £78 plus VAT for variable speed control!!
Contacted breakers yards to get answer "Sorry mate, we don't deal with cars that old..."
Am now going to make up PCB using bits from Maplin Electronics as the rest of car is too good to let go. (and it averages 51mpg)
