Whats wrong with Rover? the 2 and 4 series were awesome, the Tomcat excellent, i had a mild love affair with the bubble 2 series and especially the K series engine, especially the BRM version.
£900? bargain.

XM Prestige PRV6 92
Talbot Express Autotrail Chinook 89
Mitsubishi L200 Trojan 14
Xantia Activa 95, sold (missed)

Service Citroen is awesome, it shows me pictures of all the parts i used to be able to buy............

I had a 420 DT Tourer from new and put on 140k in less than 3 years as a company car. It was nice enough, nothing special, but it was just a Honda with a Citroen diesel motor. The MK1 Berlingo we had at work at the time often got used in preference to the bubble - shaped 214, as it was much comfier. My boss had a Tomcat. It was amusing when I was 25, but thinking how it used to drive and handle now, it was pretty terrible really!

I had a 216 gti of 1993 vintage in British racing green, I bought it brand new, I think it was about 11&1/2 grand, and still the most expensive car I have bought to this day. It was a really nice car, well finished, fast and uber reliable for the 3 years I had it. I changed it for a 94 astra 1.7d estate when we needed more room when shaun came on the go and it was the biggest mistake ever! Went from a really nippy 16v revvy petrol to 0 to 60 never!

Yep, my first Japanese car! I've had 3 japs since, a Nissan Serena minibus for a boats crew bus which was thrashed, abused, never washed or cleaned, only serviced when I could be arsed etc and never complained, and 2 x pug 107. That's my total of japs [emoji4]

A bit of a surprising comment considering that although a collaboration with Honda on design both the Honda and the Rover versions were built on the same assembly line at the Rover Longbridge factory.

Yes, they were. That means nothing though. The first and 2nd gen 200/400 were a Honda Ballade and Honda Concerto respectively. Much like my C1 is actually a Toyota.. Sticking a bit of wood and a nicer interior in a car, as Rover did with the 200/400 doesn't make it a Rover or a British car any more than a Sunderland built Primera or a Swindon built Civic.

I'm not slating the 400 series. I had a K-reg 416GSi auto for 5 years, it was a very good car. It would be, as it was all Honda apart from the interior!

It's built in the Czech Republic and the body was designed by an Italian! It's as French as I am..
