Hi Folks,
Just wondered how difficult it was to rebuild a ZX manual gearbox. Any special tools req?
The first motion shaft bearing is quite noisy so am thinking of either getting a 2/h box off evilbay or similar and rebuilding it myself, or just letting someone like http://www.reconditionedgearboxes.com/M ... index.html do the job for me. I spent most of my working life scrabbling around underneath various motor vehicles and frankly, the thought of someone else fixing it really really appeals!

Not that hard if you've got a decent tool kit. CitroJim has provided chapter and verse... BE3 rebuild hardest part might be finding the spares. Possibly just as easy to find a used low mileage unit - the boxes are generally tough, so should be OK.

Thanks for that. Yeah, a decent low mileage unit is probably the way to go...
