Part Numbers

Post by cachaciero »

Does anybody know of a source of info that will cross refer Part numbers as found on the Citroen Service parts list to actual numbers that may be found on the component.!!
e.g additve ECU for 2.2Hdi C5 Citroen list four Pt No's depending on year 1525 AS 1525 AZ 1525 CZ 1525 CY which actually bear no resemblance to any of the numbers on an actual unit!!!

Ok, this is all to do with the 2 types of fuel additive used and also the fuel additive software versions and which version of the fuel additive ECU you have:- You will determine the correct additive to use from the RPO build number of your vehicle.
Some of the part numbers you've quoted are for the actual additive ECUs and not the additive itself.

Now grab a  time: For the C5 DW10TED4-FAP (RHS) and DW12TED4 (4HX) engines:
It's quite complex going into all the minutia, but suffice it to say for vehicles prior to RPO 9492 you will need the DPX42 additive. These are / were available in a 1 litre filling kit (Part 9736 65) or a 5 litre kit (Part 9979 95).
The additive ECU part numbers for this additive are (PSA) 96 433 602 80, (PR Part No) 1525.S4, (PSA) 96 450 297 80, (PR Part No) 1525.X1, or (PSA) 96 462 163 80, (PR Part No) 1525.AS

The ECU changed from RPO 9492 to allow 2 additive maps - one for the old DPX42 and the other for EOLYS 176. The replacement additive ECU code was (PSA Part No: 96 482 823 80, (PR Part No) 1525.AZ.
For this system, where you could have either additive (but you must never mix these) the only way to identify the type of additive was from the 'clickfit union' - DPX42 was not Green or Blue and EOLYS 176. was Green.

Additive: DPX 42, White Cap, / Clickfit Union, Part: 9736.65 for 1 litre kit or 9979.95 for the 5 litre Kit.
Additive: EOLYS 176, Green Cap / Clickfit Union, Part: 9736.85 for 1 litre Kit, or 9736.86 for the 3 litre Kit.

From builds between RPO 9492 and RPO 12110 (or 12166 depending on vehicle version) the additive is EOLYS 176.

For the C5 X7, from RPO 12125 the additive is Infineum F7995.

... in a nutshell

Hi Marc

But where did you find that 9646216380 equates to 1525 AS ?

I was aware of the the change to 176 and in fact I am after converting a DPX42 system to Eolys176 for this I need a new additive tank and ECU. The problem comes when finding a suitable donor by ORG number in a breakers yard, they want Part numbers as confirmation and there in lies the problem the only numbers I have are the numbers from the online parts catalogue, these numbers are not the one that the breaker will see.

Now sitting in front of me as I write this I have an ECU which was purchased as being for a 2003 C5 it has on it the following :- MARWAL Systems ADDGO 02-04 09733029903 and 9651212180-01. When fitted the Lexia would talk to it and it appeared to be configured for a 1.6, however 2.2's appeared in the option list and could be programmed. It did'nt appear to be too happy with the pump but that was understandable because the 176 system pump is different. I was a somewhat surprised because my car is 2001 and I assumed was using VAN protocols to communicate with the additive ECU and my belief was that a ECU late enough to talk to a 1.6 would have a CAN interface. I always believed that the intermediate number 1525CZ was for VAN cars with 176 and 1525 CY was for CAN cars and Eolys176. Your info puts a different slant on this, maybe they all talk CAN, (or something else!) in which case I have an ECU which looks like it will do which only leaves the question what is the part number for the EOLYS176 additive tank 1500 Y7 that the car breaker will be able to read,? which brings me back to my first question :-)

The information is part taken from the document on Fuel additive ECU modification.
So to confirm, (PSA) 96 433 602 80, (PR Part No) 1525.S4, (PSA) 96 450 297 80, (PR Part No) 1525.X1, and (PSA) 96 462 163 80, (PR Part No) 1525.AS are all for DPX42 additives.

If you are doing a conversion, you'll need 96 482 823 80 which supports both DPX42 and Eolys 176 additives.

I'm not sure the ECU you have purchased is right - even though you can configure it for the relevant engine size. The software also has a factor to play in this and just because Lexia will talk to it and let you configure it - doesn't mean it will work properly. As example, why would they bring out 3 additive ECUs for DPX42 and differing software for each of these ECUs from RPO 9095 to RPO 9491 - doesn't make economic sense unless there were reasons to do so. :)

I can't locate the part number in the documentation I have (it's not searchable) - but I'm looking at info for a 2003 2.2 C5 with all the specs. (if you want to PM me your VIN, I'll see if there's anything different for your car)

Tony - Here is a link to the correct ECU:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/252165802622? ... rmvSB=true
The software stated in the documents is 0973 300 9904 (which is marked on this unit in the link above the part number). Can't find any of these without the -01 at the end of the part number - all the ones I've seen seem to have it - so not sure if this anything to worry about. :-D
