While I have yet to use the Like/Love feature, I am already getting irritated by the fact that, whenever somebody Likes/Loves a comment I get shown all of the Like/Love action (as opposed to just the once since I last saw them). It clutters up the home page when I log back in.

As an experiment, I have added another option to the user profile that lets the user choose to see only "recent" likes on the index page.

"Recent", in this case is since the beginning of the user's previous browsing session on the forum. There are technical reasons for choosing that as the threshold time.

This setting does not (at this time) affect what is shown on the topics pages.

I will only keep this option if a few people like it.

I just like the whole site , its very helpful and full of what's needed.
Maybe a YouTube channel with how to videos and vlogs ?

Go back to the beginning of this topic and read the first post.
If you like the feature then that is good, if you don't then you can ignore it or switch off the feature.

I have read it all from the beginning - perhaps I need to be sent on a "Reading Comprehension 101" course, but I'm pretty certain that the first post said that the "Like" button was in the bottom RH corner.

Now I couldn't find anything to indicate that it had moved, but there's a heart icon in the top RH corner (using Firefox) that looks to me like a "Like" button! I've even used it, and it works like a "Like" button.

If this is the case in all browsers, can I suggest modifying the initial post?

There was a software update some time ago that moved the button to the top right hand corner (for aesthetic and technical reasons). I have now amended the first post in this topic to match the current appearance.

You're probably already aware but in case not, the 'like' function appears to not be working today. I get an "Ajax" error when trying it (in opera, in android - worked fine yesterday or the day before).

It should be fixed now. I had accidentally disabled a server feature necessary for its operation (while chasing a different problem..)

(Existing like counts under profiles on the left, have also disappeared)

I shouldn't touch any forum settings just before bedtime. I tested it, then disabled it. It should be back now.

I like that the 'LIKE' button has been recovered from Room 101!
