My eldest has a 207 (see my post about it in the Pug section of this forum...)

I like them a lot..

Very easy to work on and look after :)

Hers has had a hard life and it's taken it all very well indeed. Well built and they last well.

What engine has yours got?

It seems really nice, lots of bits similar to my C4. It has the 1.4 16V engine with chain cam (no rattles!)
I've bought a service kit to change the oil & filters at the weekend, unfortunately it has one of those canister type oil filters where you replace the element rather than a spin off one.

You'll find swapping those filters is a mucky and messy job

My daughter's has the 1.4 TU-derived 16V with a cambelt (the ET3 engine)... Wrongly it seems I thought only the 1.6 engine had the camchain... At least that's what the BoL seems to indicate

Exactly, that's one of the reasons I don't like those filters, the other being, they never provide a good way to remove them.

I could be wrong about the chain cam (I have bought a BOL, but it's still wrapped in plastic), I'm basing this on a phone call to my local mechanic before we looked at the 207 to see how much a cambelt change was. As the service history didn't mention it, I thought I could try to get money off for that. Using the number plate my mechanic told me chain cam! I've not looked at the engine number yet & won't see the car until Saturday, but the Purflux airfilter says it's also suitable for Mini.

I'd check the engine type:

If it looks like this...

You have the ET3 with a rubber cambelt!

The cambelts are so easy to do on this engine. I've recently done Robyn's and it was a stroll in the park on a summer's day...

I can't remember what the engine looked like, I'll get the engine code when I service it at the weekend. I'm pretty sure it is the chain cam/Mini engine though as when the plate is input to Euro car parts, it suggests cam chains rather than belts. Either way it's a nice nippy car, much quicker than her old Clio. She was sad to see the Clio go as she learned to drive in it at 17 and she's now nearly 24.
Anyway here's a pic of it on our drive together with SWMBO's Clio, my squished VTS & the XM behind.

There are certainly a number of engines on service box that have chains rather than belts.

The 207 looks a nice car, a good colour. Is the roof vinyl wrapped. I think I would prefer it red. The vts looks worse from this angle. It looks sad [emoji22]

The 207 has a pan roof.

Yes the VTS is in a bad way!

Ooooo I would like that! I loved that on my c4, and on the megane I had for a short while. Personally I would have an opening pan roof, which the megane was over air con every day of the year!

That would be the ideal, but Citroen & Pug don't seem to offer it. I still love the light airey feeling the fixed one gives though.

I never shut the roof blinds on either of them. My son and daughters didn't like them and if they came in my car closed the blind. But then I passed my test in 1981, and a glass sunroof was one ot the extras to have on a car in the 80's. There was a bodyshop here that for a while was so busy fitting sunroofs aftermarket that if you needed paintwork there was a waiting list for months!
