I saw in the Citroen Club mag one guy differentiating between 3 styles (bonnet chevrons)

I'd say that Xantia1 came in two guises, the early sinkers 93&94 ( Kreg to late Lreg) i guess with chevrons on the bonnet and then the mainstream non-sinkers late 94 onwards with chevrons on the grill. Then xantia2 from around late 97 onwards .... with the obvious overlap in specs across both designs. My understanding fwiw.

Yes, pretty much any Xantia that wasn't a VSX or Exclusive IIRC after early late 1994/ early 1995 was a non-sinking non-hydractive car.
