Citroen c8 anti pollution issues

Post by edenboy-ragit »

hi all.
ive just brought a Citroen c8. usually i own german cars but this was too cheap to ignore.
its a 2003 Citroen c8 2.2 hdi.
im having a few issues to say the least!
im getting anti pollution fault come up on system.
the fault codes suggested no PATs fluid etc.
i brought PATs fluid and proceeded to raise the car up. as im tinkering around with the additive tank i look over and realised the CAT and DPF have been cut off and replaced with a straight section! bloody tits!
i spoke to a DPF removal company and they stated i still need to fill the additive tank to remove the fault codes and im ok using diesel as the PATs fluid not needed anymore.
they also stated the DPF removal and straight pipe may fail an mot but im not worried about that.
i then done a additive refill reset.
im still getting the anti pollution fault so start looking into the other fault codes.
i suspect a DPF removal remap has been done already because not any fault codes for the actual DPF. however a P1429 will not erase. exhaust pressure sensor positive wire earting out.
i cannot locate the exhaust pressure sensor.
also theres a wire which runs down the heat sheild which is cut! i suspect maybe lamba sensor maybe?
the fault codes i had originally were:
P1429 exhaust pressure sensor short to earth.
P0100 MAF sensor (i have a new one incase this fault code comes up again)
P0500 speed multiplex info
P1435 additive system dysfunction
P1442 additive ecu
P0245 turbo pressure too high
P1446 level sensor additive
P0380 additional heating control circuit short.

i did the additive and erased fault codes and didnt write down the ones which remain. just remember the exhaust pressure one does.
aldo the additive ecu has a fault code for the fuel cap? could that cause anti pollution fault?
where is the exhaust pressure sensor?
do i need 2 replace? as the DPF removed not sure its doing much anymore?
is there a bypass for this sensor?
or am i being stupid and the DPF hasnt been deleted from the system via remap? i suspect it has as no fault codes for the actual DPF.
cheers lee

2 Join this group and sink shed loads of money into it. https://www.facebook.com/groups/Eurovan2/

Sorry to be harsh, but many of us have been down this road.

I have to admit that a good friend of mine, who knows about these things, told me that if I wanted a C8, to get a petrol one and avoid the diesels like the plague!

hi.
yes your both right i always tell everyone to avoid french cars at all costs but this was too cheap. the personlised plate is worth almost double what i paid for the car and its top of the range car so thought why not??
i fixed this fault today. brought a new exhaust pressure sensor from euro car parts and fitted (its located under the car between exhaust and additive tank)
i also had to replace the MAF sensor and that has seamed to cleared those fault codes and the anti pollution fault message.
now all i need to do is replace airbag ecu, sliding door motor, heater blower motors, windscreen, get mot and maybe be a decent car! lol

Make sure you join the group Ken suggested, there's a chap on there that breaks these things and has most spares at a reasonable price.

I've got a petrol C8 at the moment..
