Its not a General Lee Ford...
Does it "correct itself" to that height when you sit in the back ?

Re: C5 Mk3 58 plate Exclusive Hydractive Suspension height
That's a good idea to be checked, haven't done that yet. So, basically, the car has to level itself up regardless how heavy is the loading at the back? If so, this is pretty awesome.Stickyfinger wrote:Its not a General Lee Ford...

From those 2 pictures side by side I can see a slightly diference between the front ride heights. On mine it looks like is a little bit higher then the other one. Am I paranoic?
Thanks for info to everyone!

The primary reason for me buying Citroens, since the GS amazed me. Also the fun you can have at traffic lights seeing the shocked and disbelieving looks of the people in adjacent and following cars when they see it doing "Citroebics)vborovic wrote:Not really, this awesomeness was on the roads for 50 years already ...blizzard wrote:So, basically, the car has to level itself up regardless how heavy is the loading at the back? Yes, the car should/does level itself at all times regardless of a FatBas'''' in the back seat or Bricks in the boot.
Read this, it will describe the advantage YOU have over all other cars on the road and why we all love the method..........

No other car will raise you up to get your MaciDee from the serving window ....confuses the heck out of the Poxhall Corsa driver behind you

Re: C5 Mk3 58 plate Exclusive Hydractive Suspension height
I think nose is bit high. On C5 X7 wrong height affects ride quality quite easily because suspension travel is so short. So if the ride isn't as comfortable as it should, then you should first check ride height. Lubricating that rear height sensor is wise thing to do.
After Mazda, though, I think even faulty C5's suspension might feel very comfy.

I would also suggest that you arrange a visit over to BL Autos in Welwyn Garden City or Pleiades in Sawtry and book it in for a check up.......VERY well recommended for the good long term health of the car and to ensure you have 100% set up.
As a "General" rule of thumb....AVOID main dealers as "most" do not have the skills/staff/care needed anymore and will also cost more by quite a margin.

I shoud lubricate those sensors 'cause last time when I had a look at them were pretty rusty.Xantippa wrote:I think nose is bit high. Regarding the comfort in the C5 allow me please to say that is one of the most comfy car I ever drove; and I drove few ... I am a taxi driver.
Cheers

Well, I've just discovered Hydractive Suspension ... my bad.vborovic wrote:Not really, this awesomeness was on the roads for 50 years already ...blizzard wrote:So, basically, the car has to level itself up regardless how heavy is the loading at the back? If so, this is pretty awesome.
And don't you think the front is a little bit higher compare with the other one? It's seems too obvious ...
Thanx

They are comfortable but following from a GS, BX and Xantia I have found them to get progressively worse.blizzard wrote:I shoud lubricate those sensors 'cause last time when I had a look at them were pretty rusty.Xantippa wrote:I think nose is bit high. My estate did seem to improve for a while after being heavily loaded (OK, overloaded) but reverted after a day or two.
They don't much like potholes. Excellent motorway cruiser though.
Mr Trainman's C6 is exceptional though, like being on a waterbed

Just had my first ride ever on DS (or DSuper). Boy these new Citroen's suck at ride comfort when compared to that. You can drive over sleeping policemen (speedbumps I mean ) without ever noticing them - that's amazing!

My hydraulc x7 is too soft ! I couldn't get a pic today but something is amiss.. its so floaty , too floaty.. looking forward to driving a other one to compare
It always looks a bit lower at the back .. like a weight is in the boot on a spring car

Don't mind me, I'm just enjoying my regular steel sprung X7 ...

Have you been in Trainman's C6. That is very floaty but I put it down to the better suspension (Double Wishbone) like the GS had.jgra1 wrote:My hydraulc x7 is too soft ! Only been in one X7 and it was rather impressive if somewhat cramped and claustrophobic compared to the previous generation.
