C5 X7 Fuse box B location

Post by joeis »

I need help locating Fuse box B in my Citroen C5 x7. I need to replace the fuse for DRL light and the diagnostic plug but I cannot find the fuse box.
I can only find Fuse box A and Fuse box C in the smal compartment in the drivers side. Fuse box B seems to be hidden somewhere.
Does anyone knows where ?

Thanks Sticky-finger,
You are right!
It is item 13 one your second picture "5 Fuse Box".
I can see it now but it seems very difficult to get access to it.
Do you know the procedure

True, but I can't remember for the life of me the B's location (never needed it) ... I'll try to look up (dismantle if needed) a bit tomorrow if the weather will be a bit nicer that it was today.

Hi Vborovic,
Stickyfinger found the right location for Fuse box B, it is located to the right of Fuse box A and C in the upper part of the fuse compartment.
It looks like a plug from the compartment side and it is fastened to the right wall of the compartment. Looking between the steering wheel and the knee airbag I can see the fuses inside fuse box B but I cannot get the fuse box free. I guess there is a procedure for getting access to the B fuses but I cannot figure it out.

Looks to me there is a spring out clip to the wall and a push in clip to connect the box to the clip.....I hate those and always seem to break them myself :( ..........normally a thin metal strip inserted depresses the clip in some way

Didn't have enough time before dark today to do more dismantling, but the following will allow for just enough room to pull out and replace any of the fuses in the Fusebox B (without taking it out that is, that's another issue) ... if required, you can disconnect 1 or 2 connectors from the BSI if they're blocking the fusebox access ... smaller pliers or stronger tweezers should be more than enough (not sure the car-provided plastic fuse clip will fit the wider fuses, but it may be possible) ... pretty simple actually ... don't know whether the other car's BSIs look like mine, since you may notice a few extra wires here and there on the photos ... :D

WTF is the point of a fusebox you have to dismantle half the car to get to???? Actually I think the one in the C4 Picasso is like that, buried under the glove box somewhere, have seen a glimpse of it, but no idea how you would change a fuse!

A Dealer's/Service job ... most owners wouldn't feel confident enough to do what we're trying to do here ... :D

to allow customers to shout

....Never again a French car !
.......how else would they keep up their (generalised) reputation ?

makes you wonder the thinking behind doesn't it :)

Thanks to Stickyfinger for finding the fuse box location and
Thanks to Vborovic for the fine pictures of how to get access to the fuses, great job.
You have been an excellent help.
Some people say that the C5 looks too German. I think that this is evidence of C5’s French origin, it take a real creative mind to put fuses in a non-accessible place.
I blow the fuse by using LED bulbs for DRL light rated 12 v ac/dc. After some month one of them gave up and short circuit. I have found some new ones rated 12-24 v ac/dc, 480 lm, 3000K. I hope they will last.
Best Regards and thanks again !

Good job.....glad to help

On bulbs, take care as the extra heat can damage the plastic, sounds like you were lucky this time :)
