Clean it all off with Isopropyl, make sure it's nice and dry then spray on some circuit board lacquer to seal it up.

Re: C5 electrical issues (poss bcm?)
yes i shall be down to maplins for a can of finest servisol tomorrow the dialogue bit is connecting to every bit of the car except the suspension computer on the global scan and its showing when I scan the BSI on its own. I just hope we're on the right track with the deadlocking and changing it to simple locking when it scanned the door sensors it read the fronts ok both opening and closing and the rear doors are registering closed (as they are) when you activate the locks via lexia the fronts lock fine but using the unlock button on lexia doesnt work, same as using the remote.
@ stempy yes thats what i did with the isopropyl and then buffed it to a fine shine, it was that green and grey crud you get when a AA battery leaks

Sounds like you're on the right track (pun intended). I'm happy as mine passed the MOT today, albeit at the cost of two new front tyres.

Re: C5 electrical issues (poss bcm?)
From what I have read, WD40 was developed for the American missile forces. The ballistic missiles had to have the tanks fully fuelled (to provide the rigidity, otherwise the missiles collapsed under their own weight), but they had to protect them from rusting. They started looking at ways to keep the water off the fuel tanks, and (after a lot of testing) Water Dispersant formula 40 produced good results. When it went to market it was initially sold as Rocket WD40.

There's one way to find out. I would guess that they will be different, but how different I wouldn't like to say. There are many folk here far more knowledgable than me on the subject who will probably have the answer, I'm dieselphobic myself.

Re: C5 electrical issues (poss bcm?)
I've checked up for you on the service docs and the 2.0 110 HDi and 2.2 136 have the same part number for the BSI: 6580 H6 and 6580 H7. Not sure what the difference is between the 2, the H6 says 'configured part and VIN to be specified on order' and the H7 just says 'part to be configured.
The only other difference is for a 3.0 and that is the same part number with 2 different letters, so I think it's a safe bet the 2 are interchangeable.
