RoB Moss and his team did a cracking job sorting her and fitted the correct Michelins as well. I would suggest you talk to him as he is currently doing a stunning total restoration on an Ami and will know zakly what you need. The wheel trim is still the full Pallas style, just the light and reflection, i havnt changed anything. She came with plastic jobbies which were all wrong. Rob sourced the right stuff. Ime sure all Citroens came with Michelins as they owned the company then. This is her from a few days ago.
Good luck with your Ami.

I was told at the 2014 CCC national that I had the wrong wheels on my GS Pallas ('75), and that they should be all 10 holers. I had one 10 holer and four 6 slotters. New 10 holers appear to be available from Der Franzose (€98) along with a variety of wheel trims.

My sales literature for GS & GSA show all three types of wheel; 10 holers; 6 slotters; and no holes or slots. Which ones are correct for which car? Well, if you have the GS Pallas wheel trims like Elsie has - it don't matter! You can't see'em. Though the GSA Pallas shown in the second edition of the GSA publicity booklet shows the Pallas with the plastic jobbies that Elsie had - so too did the Club. The Special just had small plated caps that covered the central hole in the wheel. The GSA X3 had a different fancy wheel - may have been alloys.

I reckon the factory fitted whatever was to hand provided it was a matching set, or not if covered by a full cover wheel trim.

PS I have never driven a GS/A without Michelins, so can't comment on that one.

The GS is still a heck of a looker and is incredibly lovely in that shade of yellow :D

Been out and about again in her again today, just cant help myself as she is such a great drive. And, cruising on the A 38 at 70 mph, was done with ease!!.
Not tomorrow though as the forcast is very nasty. Got home today just before the rain.

I can understand that Andy, last time I was a passenger in a GS it felt like it was a very modern and very advanced car and not something getting on for 40 years old. Amazing. back in the day it really must have been a revelation when compared to the BLs, Vauxhalls and Fords of the day...

If she were mine then I'd have to blacken the bumpers though.. particularly as the window surrounds, door handles, mirrors, and sills are black. Light grey with black inserts ..they look like Renault ones ! :rofl2:

p.s. if anyone has a set of those instruments going for a song then I'd love them for my Ami (which has probably the ugliest dashboard ever !) #-o

GSA's didnt have black bumpers though. Other than the paint colour and the side rubber she is as is, as original as i can make her. Could do with the gutter chrome but thats made from unobtanium. Was even asked if i wanted to fit a 5 speed box but ime quite happy as a C-Matic.
Black bumpers would be quite wrong.

Was the red car just along from your GS at Cornwall Farmers a Pug 205 Andy?

If so, that black thing is a thorn between two roses...

Grey with black inserts is correct, but the grey does lighten with age. All black would look to 'heavy'. I'd definitely put the strips along the sides, though the GS Pallas wheel trims are much nicer than the GSA plastic things. Speaking of which (plastic), that unobtanium gutter trim is plastic - though I heard a rumour that stainless was once available, can't confirm that though. An acceptable replacement is available from Ebay though it won't have the 'bottle nose' shape at the ends: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Classic-mini- ... 1234652911

Best check for length with the vendor.

The pug was a C reg motor, a saloon, not a hatchback and a 205 i seem to remember. As it was a Peugot, i didnt linger. Thank you for the heads up re the gutter trim Derek, ile get in touch with the seller. However, wont add the rubber strips as i dont like it one bit, to me it ruins the looks.
Weather here for the next few days is that bad, even the ducks are revolting and ime not likely to go out in any motor. Maybe Thursday.
