I don't think that's necessary, although at every turn in the service documentation it is a first step that needs to be done (unplug the battery, wait a bit and then proceed with unplugging ECUs if you're doing something to/with them)

I'm thinking about the TPMS ECU, maybe it will be simpler to install it somewhere near the BSI (front end of the car), since I won't have to pull 2 new wires which probably aren't available in my car (no mid-points per the diagrams, direct TPMS to BSI connection) ... it all comes down to the problem of whether or not the existing parking sensors' ECU will have to be moved or not, to accommodate the tow-var ECU in the left boot compartment ...

Not sure if estate, sorry tourers are the same, but my saloon has a small cubby hole over the rear wheel arch that holds all the back ECU's one top of each other.

It's the same ... the thing is that in some cases, the existing ECU in that plastic box is the parking sensors' one - mine for example, in some other cases, the box houses the TPMS ECU ... they're not of the same size (depth wise), and I worry that the parking ECU will need to come out completely for the tow-bar ECU ... you can find some of the FCF's Tourers boots in this topic, some pages back toe get a better picture ...

Regarding the phone -> car video project ... I've managed to obtain the Nokia CA-75U cable ... sound works, but the video doesn't ... probably it is a case of reversed polarity, so now I have to make a female->male rca cable with a reversed polarity to see if I'm right ... if I even manage to get the video out, that will be just a small part of the equation ... still haven's solved the about start-up of the phone (alternative, since it won't be a "smart" phone, no syncing etc... the battery should be good for 3-4 days, so if I run the car during that period, it will still be on without the need to turn it on manually) ... then, the 2nd stage if whether or not I'll be able to get the OTG cable which can charge and have a USB device connected to the phone at the same time ... if not, then no touch screen capability from the phone on the nav screen ... all that plus thinking about different ECUs and the new alloys ... ...

The alloys have been checked, fixed (they were slightly out of balance and one met with a curb ... ) ... now I'm looking for the tyres ... if I'd manage to sell my current sets that'd be great ... if not, I'll try to hold on until summer to avoid getting winter tyres for just 2-3 month's time ... and I still haven't decided which centre cap to order, I'm still closest to the grey ones, much like the "default" ...

I've ordered the light version of the center caps, and will see how it looks like on the rims ... if it won't look good, I'll go for the grey one, the black (at least all the non-genuine models) have been ruled out, since the outer border that they have is squared, not rounded like the other two

I've got those wheels on my car and frankly I think they're dreadful. Not to look at, they look good but because of the low profile tyres, the car crashes into potholes and they don't do anything for the ride.

You don't seriously think I'm getting them because I expect a more comfortable ride? I'm willing to sacrifice a bit to make it stiffer, and I don't expect that big of a change from my 17" ... and I'll get softer tyres, so that will compensate any extra stiffness making the transition to the bigger wheels that much easier ... theory at least, will see in practice ...

Umm....larger wheels does not always spoil the car, I think on a Tourer with steel springs there will less of a difference than on an Exclusive with Citroen Balls as springs

That's the reason why I'm hoping it would work, I already have half of a suspension ... ... regarding the photos, I'm in no hurry
