Xantia 4030 radio code issues

Is there an aftermarket unit I can buy that will work with the steering wheel
Controls at all guys please?

You can get "patch leads" to make the wheel controls work (but my ones still do not even with one set fitted) which patch to after market head units. It does seem a bit of a lottery on earlier cars.

I fitted a BlueTooth head unit with remote mic and for that I am happy to loose the wheel controls which I will take time in the winter (when/if that happens) along with the other things like blown bulbs in the heater controls. It would be nice to get them working again but the benefits of hand free and streamed music outweigh other functions.

For straight forwardness tim you NEED to buy a dedicated box that fits between the steering wheel controls and the appropiate radio your fitting.. as most radios use a seperate 3.5 mm jack for remote controls... or sony used to anyway..

Thats a new one on me. Tried power cycling it? (Unplug for half hour then reconnect).

Its a shame it doesnt work as they aren't bad!

That's why I've percivered with it as I do like that i can play CDs, my iPod and control it from the wheel, I've never yet found one with a working tape deck though!

Very odd that yesterday I inputted the code albeit the wrong one and it allowed me, today it's just saying code and then goes two 4 zeros but that's all.

So pressing the buttons does nothing now. How strange!

Don't think you've permanently locked it? Could be possible to find the chip that deals with the code and replace it with one out of one of the others?

My tape decks naffed too, but like you said its good to have aux, radio, cd and wheel controls. I've got my changer full of random cds that i can listen to anyday incase i cant find anything on the radio and my phones in use!

Thats a last resort of course!

can't find any sort of documentation on how many times you can enter a wrong code in the *030 series unfortunately. If i were closer i'd have a mosy, i do remember the peugeot one in my mums 306 needed certain buttons pressing if you got it wrong.

Unfortunately the radio manual is missing from the owners pack. The other two cars are a distance away and have 3030 units.

Many thanks, I think the units no good as the code should go in as per instructions!
