Lovely indeed.. Always wanted one of those when I had an ordinary Mini... Would still like one now...Zelandeth wrote:Here was today's spot up at the big second hand furniture warehouse at Kiln Farm.
That as a Woseley Hornet wasn't it? The Riley Elf was very similar but one was a little posher than the other... Can't recall which now...

Re: Classic car Autumn/Winter Collection (Spring/Summer S.H.!)
Now that would be tricky for me...which one would I have between the bright green or the bright yellow one?
...Probably the yellow one as I've had a soft spot for yellow cars ever since I had my yellow Metro.

One more for now, taken at the Burgundy classic car meet last spring, a symptom of someone with too much time (and too many TA engines) on their hands?

Re: Classic car Autumn/Winter Collection (Spring/Summer S.H.!)
Definitely a "Hornet". Surprisingly to me the Riley was the "posher" of the two. One of the differences in trim being the Wolseley only had a little bit of wood trim around the dials, while the Riley had wall to wall veneer from one side of the car to the other.CitroJim wrote: That as a Woseley Hornet wasn't it? Oh yes, the Elf dash was definitely the one to have As recall the Elf and Hornet were the first to have the 998cc engine, air vents and remote gear change in a Mini. It was much later that the standard Mini got those options...

Today we have a trio of classic camping ensemble. Is this what they call "clamping"?
0 - 60 in 3 weeks?
I think you can go too far with colour coordination...
You have to love the curved plywood caravan!

Re: Classic car Autumn/Winter Collection (Spring/Summer S.H.!)
No photos sadly as was too busy driving!
Couple of days ago a white 1979-86 Saab 900 5-door hatchback just outside Fyvie.
Yesterday, K plate I think Morris Traveller in a lovely pale blue in Inverurie, that one looked mint.
This evening, an R plate Chevrolet Astro day van. Okay, not exotic to many people, but I want an Astro (would prefer the more basic one though rather than the jacked up limo version) because I like how they drive and because they are just so American. Oh...they don't half make a nice noise too...having a 4.6 litre V6 may have something to do with that.

Mini Moke
"The Mini Moke is a vehicle based on the Mini designed for the British Motor Corporation (BMC) by Sir Alec Issigonis[7] and John Sheppard.[8]
The name comes from "Mini"—the car with which the Moke shares many parts—and "Moke", which is an archaic dialect term for donkey.[9][10][11] The Moke has been marketed under various names including Austin Mini Moke, Morris Mini Moke and Leyland Moke."
