Megan's driveshaft

Unread post by daviemck2006 »

The drivers side of my Megane is clicking on full lock, getting worse. I will have to fix it before it gets sold in 2 weeks. My questions is will the driveshaft of the 1.6 mk1 Megane that is destined for the scrappy fits on my 1.4 mk2? Can anyone find out part numbers before I pull one out and waste some time?

Ok, a quick look on ebay, the photos of mk1 and mk2 are totally different. I can get a used driveshaft for £16, a new cv joint for £20, and a complete new driveshaft for £30. I'm not caring about quality, the car will be sold in 2 weeks, is it easier just to replace the cv joint, or the complete driveshaft? I want as easy a job as possible. If the complete shaft has to come out to change the cv joint t then a complete shaft will be bought. If the cv joint can be replaced without taking the shaft right out then that's what it will get.
