Now that's a name I recall from living/working in Teddington/Twickenham some time back, though I didn't use them.
Is there still a Peugeot/Citroen/Renault specialist called "The French Corrction" the other side of the A316 in St Margarets? They used to be pretty good but had changed hands the last time I was in the area (about 2-and-a-half years ago).

Whoops - "The French Correction" was the name, appropriately enough.

Hi David,as far as I know French correction are still based in st margarets Twickenham,The proprietor used to be a chap called Alex he must have been a good mechanic a I sold him a 1971 Mercedes 250ce coupe needing restoration,he said that this would be his project as he had just sold his french car repair business.About a year later he brought the Mercedes back for me to see and it was immaculate!

Interesting to hear that about Alex - I started using him for his reliable Citroen BX service/repair (sorry to be off-topic!) after some experiences with another French specialist a little further South-West (who shall remain nameless). The work with the original specialist was fine but the timescales were a little..erm...flexible.
Alex used to drive a six-wheel 2CV conversion around Twickenham, and was always both reliable and extremely helpful. The people who took over his business claimed that Alex had taken up an acting career - I never found out if that was the case. All of which has very little to do with valve seats........

Hi well i can report back that the car is up and running again (touch wood)As for Alex he told me that he was taking up acting whether it was a success i don't know.Incidentely I was on the A3 a couple of years ago (i was in a golf GTI)when this citroen 2cv shot passed me it looked completely standard apart from 4 exhaust pipe tips, I mentioned this to Alex when he picked up the mercedes and he said this was one of his conversions and he had fitted a Rover V8 engine in it!! any way I apologise to any one who thought that they were logging on to just valve seat info!!
