OBD2 device
Hello.
We are working on a new OBD II tracker/scanner. Our device is almost finished but we still have time to add new functions or change some of the existing ones. I want your advice to make it better if it is interesting for you to participate in the process of creating a new device for your car.
Main functions of the device:
- reads engine error codes;
- shows the data from dashboard indicators;
- real-time 24/7 vehicle monitoring;
- location tracking;
- notification when vehicle enters or leaves a geo-fence;
- driver's behavior analysis;
- accident notification;
- 3d reconstruction of the accident;
- mobile application;
Which other functions would you find useful? What functions do you think are unnecessary?
I will be thankful for any ideas. Feel free to say what you think.

Re: OBD2 device
Data will be interfaced in a smartphone app and in a web account.
If you want to get information about the car while driving you can do it. If you need to know the location of the car you can see it on Livemap wherever in the world it is. Whith this device people can easily share their cars to their teen drivers. This device helps to find a car on a parking lot, sends notifications in case of an accident or if the vehicle is being towed away so you users take action immediately.
And there are many other useful functions.

Re: OBD2 device
And you have it working with Citroen/PSA data ?....impressive.
What cars are you planning to do this for ? C1-2-3-4-5 etc and older ?

Re: OBD2 device
I'm glad to hear it is proposed to be interfaced with a mobile phone/tablet.
What controls are held over the data - is it like many apps, where consent is informally given for a large number of "personal" details to be transmitted to a third party for their commercial use? Or does the buyer/operator have 100% control over the data forever?

You'll have an app developed in our company, and all data from the app will be sent to the server where you can see you data. You will have 100% control over data. We will have private policy.

Re: OBD2 device
Will this device read only the standard EOBD parameters, or will it also read some of the proprietary PSA parameters (of which there are many)?

Re: OBD2 device
Our device or app does not sends any data from your smartphone. You need a smartphone just to interface the data from the device. You can use a PC to enter your account.Stickyfinger wrote:Send my daily movement records to a 3rd party for both car and phone ....why would I do that ? (honest question btw)
Be sure your data are highly protected.
Data from the devices are not personalized in our data base. We see the data in binary code. We can't know if it is your car or a car of other user.

Sam, please be aware this site allows no commercial advertising nor any invitations to fund via Kickstarter and so on whatsoever.Sam Witwicky wrote:Hey guys!

I'd appreciate if no links were published here. I'm happy for the discussion to continue on here but it must not turn commercial in any way...
Anything considered to be so will be edited/removed.
I'm sure any members interested in pursuing this further will be able to find the ability to do so.
Thank you for your understanding.
