Xantia 1.9TD Estate 1996 in-line roof bars?

Unread post by romie »

I've been after a set for ages, never see any on ebay or in breaker yards :(

Figure I'll have to make something this weekend to fit these roof bar gutter things.

Anyone know if any different vehicle in-line bars fit?

Hi - you do know the cross bars just fit into the grooves already on your roof? There aren't any 'in line' bars as far as I know - they aren't needed.

Just something else Citroen did differently - and better!

Although the original crossbars do crop up on eBay, I believe Thule do the 'feet' needed to make their own crossbars fit the original channels.

Hope that helps?

uh, nope :p
FairNuff, I'll find some of them then :)

But would have been handy to just have the permanent in-line versions I can leave in, that don't cause as much wind noise :/

The factory ones are pretty quiet and easy to remove/refit, I have a set if you need some.

I think I recall seeing a genuine set on ebay, maybe two days ago, and for a relatively low price (maybe around 30 GBP, 1 bid, or 2 at most), I'll try to track it down, if it isn't already gone

oh sorry, I didn't get a notification that this was replied to?

These ebay ones are the transverse across roof version, yup?
I was thinking that the slots in the roof are for in-line semi permanent ones? I think these would stay in place and so be more useful with then low cost, cross members if needed :/

Those holes are for transverse bars .. as posted there were no 'in-line' bars available to my knowledge (and that's not much these days :) )

I have the original factory trnasverse bars (not for sale!) but they are curved and IMO after-market ones (like Thule) are more practical because they are flat and you can get accessories for them. Daughter had a pair of the latter, much better for transporting anything large and flat (furniture, doors etc).
