heating matrix or not that was the question

Sofar it is working,but I'll keep it going to the weekend.

Jim, the glue is JB Weld epoxy glue.

It is apparently even better than areldite metal.

Epoxy will soften in time with heat forcing the breakdown of the cross-linking, typically it gets a wet sticky surface. Keep an eye on it mate.

Wrap that with amalgamation tape to keep the oxygen away from it.

Thanks Sticky I will do, Thats why I'm looking for another matrix hose even if I have to cut mine and patch in the plastic pipes which attaches tothe matrix at the bulkhead

Well so far so good the fix is holding.

Here is what I did:

Matrix hose was placed in vice with hole where bleed valve was facing upwards.

Take a tyre valve and remove a small portion of the rubber to reveal metal tube.

Insert the the tyre valve, metal part into hole,check the length and cut to size.

Using a good epoxy glue with a high temperature threshold, glue the valve into place and created a collar around the joint.

Leave for at least 24 hours.

Jim, It will come down to how good the epoxy glue is.

So far so good.

Possibly a good temporary fix when the bleed valve goes until a set of matrix hoses are found.

I'm thinking about changing them to hoses with jubilee clips.

Paint black mastic over it to keep it from going brittle or the exposure to oxygen breaking it down......can but help.

Will be giving serious consideration when I come to do my matrix (currently have a periodic smell of coolant but no loss or wet foorwells), of seeing if I can just do away with the plastic connector and just use old fashioned (good quality) jubilee clips...these clip together things cause more problems than they cause...
