Quite an interesting concept to show the dangers of texting whilst driving but in a safe environment.

Cars don't help with all the bluetooth stuff.
Drivers phone should be in the boot. I like to think I'm prity disciplined about it but if it rings I panic for some reason even though I don't want to answer it.
Bring on driverless cars I say. Love the Xantia for my pleasure but I'd rather sleep whilst commuting or text maybe.

Same situation here right now, I find it really frustrating.
Public transports a no go for us really, 3 of us carshare and I reckon we carry about 500kg of tools.
Might be fun to try once though.

Phones should not be used by drivers of vehicles under any circumstances. No exceptions. Even hands-free they distract from the essential job the driver has to do. If a call needs to be made or taken then stop safely and do it statically.

I wonder how some drivers who listen to so-called music at top volume manage to drive safely? Surely that's distracting too.

I only have a very short commute and generally it's all the car is used for now. Bike is used for most local errands...

So much do I use (and prefer) to use the bike I'm contemplating buying a trailer for it to allow me to carry more load...

I have found almost giving up driving very liberating and very beneficial...

Yet makers are fitting touch tablets or letting Apple do it for them......with zero tactile "feedback" you have to take your eyes off the road to use them....not a great advance that one.

Tablet-like functionality and screens in cars should be banned too. What's the need of them apart from their bling value?

My C1 functions quite adequately with just a speedo, a fuel gauge and a few warning lights... Who needs more?

And a basic wireless and CD player which is quite adequate for the job...

Of course they are texting in French which makes it much more difficult. Seriously though, that is a very good idea but sadly the problem is that youngsters particularly don't seem to learn by their mistakes.

They don't do "buttons" because they may be better, but they cannot have a visual and sensory experience with a button........ (as they drive into the on-coming truck)

Also, it has to be said that tablet-like screens are cheaper and easier to assemble than proper buttons and knobs...

It's all about cost disguised as bling...
