Heater and bulbs

ZX TD. My heater matrix sprung a leak yesterday. The local accessory shop doesn't stock Forte products so I had to use Radweld. The leak has stopped but the heater output is only lukewarm. Would bleeding the cooling system restore full heat?
I also have to replace some instrument panel bulbs, but my ZX has a driver's airbag. What precautions are needed before removing the steering wheel?

on the airbag side.
disconnect the battery get a cup of coffee/tea and wait at least 15 mins before working on it.
heater matrix side do a search on the group theres loads of info

Hello gents, also, don't touch the electrical connections for the airbag and carry and store it upright.
