Vauxhall make 4 appearances in the selection of 120 cars in I-Spy Classic Cars. Thus we have the ancient Vauxhall Prince Henry, the Cresta PA spotted by MikeT, and these two:-

Vauxhall Calibra for a rather mean 10 points (even rarer than a MKIII Cavalier!)
Beneath the wind-cheating styling, the Cailbra shared its mechanical parts with the humble Vauxhall Cavalier. Despite the low roofline, the calibra's still a two-door full four seater, with a hatchback leading onto a roomy luggage compartment. Besides the standard 2.0 litre engine, there's a turbo edition, plus a 2.5 litre V6
Image

Vauxhall Lotus Carlton 40 Points
The basic Carlton was a straightforward executive saloon, but once sports car specialist Lotus had been let loose on it, it had a 3.6 litre twin-turbo engine, a massive 377bhp on tap, and potential to reach 180mph; there's a six-speed gearbox too. The wide-wheels, side skirts and substantial spoilers identify it as a wolf in sheep's clothing!

Spotted a fairly original Hillman Imp in black, today. Unlike Malcolm's Imp, it had not suffered a fire.

I always wanted an Imp... Still hanker for one now...

Malcolm's Imp featured in his eulogy at his funeral :) That car is now famous!

Only three of these were made so a bit unfair to put it up as a whatsthisthen? but and interesting variation on the Imp theme...

Those of you acquainted with the dark arts of whatsthisthen?ing will quite easily discover its identity from autotrader vehicle check and the sourceinfo for the image :)

Plenty of Italian influence.

The story of the three Zimps is told here, all 3 are still in existance today.

A straight 999 points for an "on the road" or "at the show" spot :!:

Avoid them if at all possible - speaking from experience, and not a pleasant experience.

I spotted a very tidy black DS in St. Leonards, not associated with Malcolm's funeral. Near the sea front at 06:00.

The DS in I-Spy Cars scores 20 points
from I-Spy Cars
The shark-like DS profile remains unique but, apart from everything you can see-like the single spoke steering wheel and the rear indicators mounted in the roof-the front-wheel drive saloon came jam-packed with innovation. The hydropneumatic suspension is self levelling, while gear change, clutch and brakes are all power-assisted
google "black DS in St Leonards" and this is the first listing.

Nice one today! Ferrari 308 GTO. Was in the Saab and gave the driver a thumbs up out the window as he passed. He waved back, backed off a bit, dropped a gear then belted past me. Oh...my...word...what a lovely noise...

Restored my faith in owners of exotica after the E-type nonsense last week.

Yes, the picture comes from a thread on the citroencarclub forum-and a random chance of finding it using to Steve's exact words he used in his post in google.

A very nice colour and example of a DS to use to illustrate the 20 pointer from "I-Spy Classic Cars", and for me only knowing Malcolm through the forum, a nice back story to the photo and one of Malcolm doing what he liked best.
