I've never subscribed to this "babe magnet" thing - maybe 'cos I've always gone for cars that appealed to me.

Nowadays, more than ever, girls are really only attracted to cars they'd like for themselves - so that's likely to be something no self-respecting petrolhead would be seen dead in (although I did encounter a goth chick at "The Ace" a few weeks back who had a Cadillac hearse!); pink Ka convertible, with colour coded allys anyone?

I'm only 5' 6" and I've sat in a few DS5's. I thought they were just superb (I did say I didn't need a babe magnet). The centre console is certainly high and wide, but no worse than a lot of big prestige cars like the Jags and Lexus. Son in Law has a new XJ LWB and his father has a Lexus LS 460. I honestly would prefer the DS5 to either of them.

There is zero room for my left knee/leg, a dreadful design that is way way to narrow and certainly unlike the two cars you note. The seat squab is also stupidly short which will make long journeys most uncomfortable for a tall driver.

My leg is quite normal btw but is prevented by the stupid high wall of the console from finding a comfortable position....its a total no no and I can assure you not many tall drivers will get in one for very long.

Say goodbye to sales in Scandinavia (except Trolls and Smurfs)and any Masai who may be looking Citroen :( you have gone from the most comfortable seats you ever fitted (C5Mk1 Leather) to the worst with the DS/CatPoo.

I really would not touch the car for this reason, not in 100 years as it is shockingly bad for me and I have to say one of the worst positions I have ever been placed in in a car (including strange Italian layouts)........it may fit other lower less leggy persons but not me

As I said "I" would prefer it over the Lexus and Jag. I didn't say it was preferable. It suited me perfectly but that's a personal preference. Drove the Lexus to Swindon and didn't like it at all. Had the Jag out a few times and it's just too boatlike for a wee guy like me. I had a complaint about the headroom in the back too. Thank God we don't all like the same things in a car .

I have plenty of room and comfort in my 205, and I'm 6 feet and fat! The megane is good also. I am hyper critical of seats and driving positions.

I wouldn't mind a 205 .....Late 80's / early 90's small cars 'fit' most people

The 205 is a much better car than the 206 which came after it. I bought a 55 plate 206 1.4 16v sport for the ex when it was 3 years old and 20000 on the clock. It was junk. I then, a few months ago bought an 02 plate one as a stopgap and didn't like it either. The 1.1 205 is nipper, comfier, better made and handles far better. Progress is not always good.

Totally agree daviemck 2006... we need someone to make the good old cars again but with modern rust proofing / plastic bodywork / better engines but without the problematic filters .... someone must fancy the job ?

To look at my 205 and drive it, apart from a shot wheelbearing you would swear it's only like 3 years old, not 20. I see no rust, even where it is wounded, no signs of over spray, and the underside is as it came out of the factory, apart from light surface rust on the front subframe. Give me the 80's or 90's any day. I had an early cavalier, 1977 r reg I think I loved it, then a 1980 opel manta, then a 1981 astra then a 1985 mk 2 cavalier. That was when vauxhall were good.
