Activa Parts

Unread post by DHallworth »

With parts becoming harder and harder to find I thought I'd start a thread as I've been asked by a couple of people as well...

What Activa or V6 parts are common failures that it's worth building up a stock of?

Is it worth compiling a list and getting some group buy prices?

So far I've got:

405911 x 4 - Rear Activa Ram Bush - £11 retail
527360 x 2 - Nylon rod guides - £15 retail

I've probably got more in the workshop but these are at hand in the desk drawer in the study for safe keeping

Struts......Jim's rubber for Ram repair...4 way return connector (already gone, needs a remake)....Active Ram ball joints ?....?? Activa ElectroValve (not standard ?)...V6 Pumps S1-S2 (?)

Do Citroen have an in-house program/department for supporting their "classics" like the DS etc ??

I've not heard of any support Citroen offer on the DS or any of their other 'classic' models, most parts on the D I own are available due to being remanufactured or refurbished by specialist suppliers who just cater mainly for the D model.

So, Who knows any management in Citroen/PSA ? Who runs the Citroen Conservatoire ? .....it would be nice of them (as Volks/Merc etc do) to release the Drawings/Specs to the after market or even the names of the satellite manufactures so contacts could be made.

Maybe time to link/talk to one of the larger DS Specialists about Activa support ?.....Germany, Holland, France, UK, I wonder how many are left in total, wonder what the market size is for the V6/Activa.

Heard that citroen supply panels and some parts for 2CV. Sourced from a supplier in Marseilles but only available through Citroen - I guess with the requisite mark up.

I tried this with them last year when I couldn't get a coolant hose for the Activa (even just asking them to give me a contact for the oem of the hose to see if they had any stock held back). They are not in the tiniest bit interested.
s**t customer service from top to bottom.

I'd add the Front Active Roll Control Rods to that list?

A dutch Guy via their club does these I think

Maybe Jim could contact ALL the Other Web Sites/Activa groups to see what they are making for the cars (or what they have made and have patterns for) and get a EU Wide list of parts going.

It would be a good way of finding the EU wide market size/demand and be able to budget for getting parts made up like Poly-Bush replacements etc.
Lots of "One-Off" is NOT a cleaver way of doing anything.

Definitely the XM Steering Ram gaiters for ram repairs. If not already NFP they can't have long to go now...

Ah, great! Has anyone fitted one to the rear ram yet?

I'll have to pop down to my friendly local Pug dealer.

Thanks,

James

I'm running a solid one at the moment, the same as Jim's design but I made it myself.

As soon as I get any problems with it then I'm going to put the Peugeot one in.
