Hi Folks,
Yesterday the red warning STOP light came on after a long journey but thankfully I was nearly home..
The pipe that burst was the one going to the electrovalve just as you look down where the radiator is... It split just above the jubilee clip, I've cut the split bit but it wont go onto the nipple easily, does the end of the pipe have a different dimension as the split end goes on nicely..
here's a pic:

Now I'm going to re-sleeve, what diameter fuel pipe do you all recommend, I can't find my caliper gauge handy to measure.
Thank you.
George

Found my gauge
I need a 10mm bore, going to attempt my first repair on my activa.. wish me luck, I've not done a re-sleeve before but in theory looks simple enough.........

Re: Split LHM pipe strife
I cut one right back and inserted a longer length using small bore scrap pipe and a short rubber section at the valve end.....I had to as it had been shortened before and was too tight.
See you at the Nats....staying in Boston (with the Ex !...brave) Friday night after the PSA/Citroen "do" in Coventry.

Re: Split LHM pipe strife
Update... I was very lucky; a) the offending pipe was easily accessible and b) the pipe split just above the jubilee clip where it secures to the nipple.
I was able to get the air intake cleaner housing off, which gave me access to the same pipe below it. I was then able to tease some extra slack out of it which extended the pipe enough to get it back onto the nipple. No Re-sleeve necessary... RESULT!
You can only do this once mind you... hopefully never happen again...

Re: Split LHM pipe strife
Ah...! I spoke too soon my repair only lasted a month...
the rubber piping slipped off at the nipple of the electrovalve, my theory is that it was too taught and vibrations etc.. loosened it off..
Can someone please explain how I resleeve, I thought it would be simple in theory but I had trouble with the pipe diameter when I looked at it last and then I realised I could pull the rubber pipe tight and not have to resleeve (or so I thought....!!!)
Also, if someone could very kindly supply me or let me know where to get the correct diameter piping I'd need I will be hugely grateful and of course I will happily pay for these items. ( I don't need a lot, a couple of inches I would have thought...)
I now have 3 immobile Citroens, 2 in the drive and 1 in the garage
, luckily I have a very understanding partner... To make matters worse I really needed the car this week and I had to rent a car.. they only had a Mondeo.

Re: Split LHM pipe strife
look up a hose shop and take any 'old bits' and tell them what it's for, I just used some copper pipe, spare DS hose, some smaller plastic tubing and some fuel line to patch up the mess I created when wrestling off the resevoir to clean, if someone set up a run on replacing these, bit of 3D printing?... they could make a bit on flogging A LOT of them to saddened Xantia owners!
Just watched the cricket last night, had a laugh at how Warney and co commentating this end were slow to bring up the stats on how our team was creamed by your mob. Hilarious. I couldn't help wondering how buoyant English fans must be behaving about now!
I'll see if I can load up some photos on bush mechanic repair efforts ( cheers Addo) to prove it isn't that hard.
