307 bulb failure

hi everyone i'm after some advise im a mobile mechanic and before you start laughing it's got me to the stage where I feel like putting a bomb under it
one of my customers has just bought a 2007 56 plate 307 and for some reason it keeps on blowing n/s/r indicator bulbs after a few flashes and the n/s/r/ brake light bulb flashes when you drive along after a couple of days that blows and the o/s/f dip beam bulb blows after about 10 days i've had an auto electrician check all the wiring and I have put a new rear light unit in from Peugeot and its still the same has anyone got suggestions please

Presumably you have checked the battery voltage, if that's around 14.4 the only other thing is excessive vibration - assuming these are filament type bulbs. Its possible that the alternator has an intermittent fault causing the voltage to rise, you could connect a meter to the cigar lighter to monitor the voltage while driving.

Although its rare on the 307, have a look for details of the 207 and 407 rear light cluster earth fault. It well documented. Check the socket which plugs into the lighting "plate" and look for evidence of burning or melting on the earth wire.

thank you peter n my customer managed to spare 10 minutes so got him to drive the car with my laptop plugged in and the alternator was sporadic volts ranging from 11.8 up to 16.3 so changed the alternator and it's now charging at 14.0 volts continuously I just couldn't get why it was charging normally when idling

Unusual fault but seemed the only way, probably a glitch in the electronics glad you found it.

Sounds like the voltage regulator beginning to fail.

Very lucky the ECU was not toast......16+ volts....yikes !
