Maybe a row of cars as a send off ?, when one of the 3000 owners past on, they had an avenue of screaming engines.
It would be nice to try to arrange something if the family would like it, maybe the question could be asked at a later more suitable time.

....however being of the age that has taken me into this situation in ever increasing numbers, I know time will be (always is) shorter than expected.
So, maybe we should start to plan one last thing for him ?

Yes, I was going to ask you lot and Claire about this. Malcolm's workshop is a veritable treasure-trove of Citroen tat, and I would hate to think of anyone getting their hands on it and diddling the family out of the right price for the items. I'd certainly go and help out.

Yes when the time comes we will need help, you could not even begin to imagine the treasure's dad has collected over the years!

We had already thought of a precision of as many Citroen's as we can find & have been asking round a few people already.

ditto re funeral attendance but I wouldn't be able to get time of work also no car. oddly not the distance that puts me off. Anyway hope that enough people are able to make it to give him a good send off.

I remember the manual thing too- he asked me about popping over to collect them! LOL.

Talking of his workshop, I was wondering if there are any customer cars trapped in there and if so are they aware of the situation.

Possibly Chris Salter's GS. My very last chat with Malcolm was about me going down to move it and a couple of other things around for him while he was in hospital.

No cars are TRAPPED in dad's workshop, we have the keys & have been down a few times to check on the place. Chris had his G back weeks ago we went to wave it off. The only car in there, that does not belong to dad, is a gentleman's 2CV van he is well aware of the situation & was due to collect it today but due to the circumstances this has been postponed.

Now this is an 'off the wall' idea, and of course would need the family's permission, I hope they don't think it's inappropriate, please accept my apologies if it does offend.

What about approaching Channel 4's 'For the Love of Cars' programme to see if they would restore Malcolm's DS and do a show about it? I don't think they've done anything with hydropneumatic suspension. If there is another series they may do the same as the last one so the cars are auctioned off and the proceeds go to the family.

Just a thought, it would be a nice tribute if we could pull it off.

Dad would have liked that, he had been in touch with someone about a similar idea, mayb it was the same channel 4 program. We would like to see it restored, but would not know where to start now. Claire ( Malcolm's daughter )

I'm quite happy to approach Channel 4 on the family's behalf if you like (with just the basic information to see if there is any interest), then if they are interested 'pass the baton on' to family and friends. I never met Malcolm but learnt so much from his posts on the forum. Let me know what you think.
