Xantia HDI intermediate bearing
Does anyone know the number of this bearing (not citroen) I reckon it is the source of my mystery clunk on starting the engine.

Re: Xantia HDI intermediate bearing
I assume you have checked the upper engine torque mount.. bolted to the SIDE of the syspension turret by 3x 16mm boots?? They are common for splitting and cause a knock on engine rock..

Re: Xantia HDI intermediate bearing
XUD didnt have one, unless it was 2.1..
Its easy to locate, but needs removing to look at..
Look down the side of the Drivers side suspension turret, to the side of the cam belt plastic covers... below the two Vaccum Electrovalves...

Re: Xantia HDI intermediate bearing
While you are at it have a look at the mount to the inner wing as well. I had one go on a previous car and because the weight of the engine is on it its not that obvious just looking or gentle rocking the engine by hand.

Re: Xantia HDI intermediate bearing
The culprit was indeed the rubber bush or dogbone thing, I have ordered a replacement bush from the bay from a Lithuanian motorfactors for £9.99, I have had a good look at the P bushes and wishbone bushes and they all look good, I must have got lucky aligning them by eye before belting them on

Re: Xantia HDI intermediate bearing
The £9.99 Replacement bush arrived from the Lithuanian motorfactors, made in France, fitting was straightforward, and the clunk is gone
