X7 on the floor, no lift no pump

Unread post by Stickyfinger »

OK, "The Pig" is on the floor and will not lift.

Buttons are OK and show the selected position on dash....no lift
Cannot hear pump run....but lifted fuse box and the (No8) 40amp is OK, all others are OK
Cannot get under it :)

Recovery booked for the morning

Any thoughts on why NO FAULTS show in Lexia on a read ?
Activation of the raise does not work, the Lexia session runs but with no effect on the car and does not shout a fault.
Boot raise button bleeps but does not raise the car.

Sounds as though the pump has died, you can check if there's power to it by carefully splitting the loom covering near the pump and getting a meter reading by pushing a needle into the feed wire. If you have 12v there then it's almost certainly a pump off job.

Pump might be repairable, sometimes just water ingress and copper corrosion on the internal wires.

My thoughts, however ?? why no fault on Lexia ?

As for testing....I will let the dealer sort it rather than them trying to blame me :)....with luck they will cover it

Maybe it's one of the level sensors going off (or on), giving false info, making the car think everything is in order (when actually it isn't)?

I agree, it sounds like a sensor or ECU fault. As you say it shows the selected height on the display, it appear to somehow 'think' that the car is already at the correct level, so no action is required.

Well lets see if the "Dealer" warranty covers it (what ever it is)................Bets on why they refuse to pay for all or some of it ?

FYI, the dealer only has 1 guy who has ever worked on real Citroen's....looking forward to this

I'm so glad I didn't go the X7 route instead of the blingo, I hope the dealer manages to sort it Sticky.

LOL....why, C5x7 is no worse than any other Citroen with real suspension, in fact better is some ways (but I still think the Mk1Exclsv is the most comfortable of the set)

Agree with sticky. The X7 is a complex car with very few faults given that complexity. Can't understand how it can be compared to another (lesser) model IMHO, nor why anyone would be looking at the Berlingo and the X7 C5 as a choice. Surely they are entirely different beasts?

I've been down the estate car route as a load carrier and it didn't suit, I've previously had two mk1 C5's both great cars but one had a pump failure and they aren't cheap. So a mk3 blingo van it was.

I took the other route with a couple of Blingo's then went to the estate car route, Blingo was OK but no use for long loads and the rear door was a pain as it was so long/tall to open and close, X7 is the way to go for me, love mine to bits.

Do you hear the pump at all when you unlock the car and open the door?

No pump, no leaks, no Lexia fault......so I just gave up and its gone to the dealers on the back of a "special car" drop bed truck for extra low cars....I need new rear mudflaps :)

Just had a call from the Main Stealer, Pump is shot, 3 day "Special Parts Order".......and they will not give me the old pump back.

Why do I feel very nervous about the car being there ?......man I hate what they do to cars in dealers, I will give it a really good look when I get it back and see how many connectors are damaged and rounded off !
