Guy Martin. Nutter?
I have just watched "Speed, with Guy Martin", where he attempts to set a new World Record for the furthest distance a motor bike has been ridden on water! Mad, or what?

Wait till you see him try a mountain climb (think hill climb only bigger - especially the drops over the edge!) on a turbo motorbike.

It was climbing the ladder to the pin at the top of the tower in India where he strayed into stuff I wouldn't do.

Re: Guy Martin. Nutter?
He's 'eccentric' in the truest sense of the word!
After turning over the go cart at high speed (largely becuase he'd added a load of weight to make it go faster, and ignored the fact that it got tank slapper on every time he braked) "Aw, I've scratched my crash helmet - my mate that painted it will be furious. That was a great crash - best I've had this year.....come to think of it, best I've had for ages"!!
And after winning the Pike's Peak hilclimb (on the home built turbo bike, which wouldn't run at >100 mph as the fuelling map was wrong somewhere) "Easy, could have gone much faster if the bike had been running properly"

Re: Guy Martin. Nutter?
his pikes peak bike was Mental! and typically Guy, it works, could do it better, smoother but it works so we'll have a go! - After a brew....
i think he is one of the most likeable types of person, honest down to earth chap who earns his money from racing bikes but works as a commercial truck mechanic! he doesnt really Need to but he does as he loves it!!
he is also a pretty blooming good mountain biker and Racer, he enters the more endurance style races now, 12/24hr races, last few he has come second to the chap he did the distance record with for cycling,
his Volvo is something special too!!!

Re: Guy Martin. Nutter?
Guy certainly makes for interesting viewing.
There was a film on TV on last Saturday evening, it was about the TT and Guy was in that too.
Apparently there was information about Guy joining up with Jodie kidd who is currently presenting on The Car Show, and the two of them presenting a new version of Top Gear.

Re: Guy Martin. Nutter?
Isle of Man TT race week. I think anyone that partakes is such "fun" is some sort of (admirable) nutter. Sadly one rider already lost their life during qualifying this year.
As Steve Parrish says, to ride here you have to leave your brain (I think he meant common sense) in the toolkit.
Guy Martin is quite optimistic about his bike this year - perhaps he'll get the win(s) he's hankered after before he gets "too old" (his words) and pursues other activities he feels he's missing out on. Having said that, there's some very stiff and determined opposition who wil likely be breaking lap records this year down to bike improvements etc.
