No, karate in real life is nothing like it's portrayed in KK Malcolm.. I was actually rather upset that the initial portrayal of Karate was somewhat brutish, aggressive and attacking. It is nothing of the sort as Mr. Myagi quite rightly pointed out and that did come out later...

There was some good moments in the fight scenes I thoroughly enjoyed..

I loved the bit where Mr. Myagi goes for flies with his chopsticks and states that he who can catch a fly with chopsticks can accomplish anything...

The whole atmosphere of the film reminded me of Debbie Does Dallas but without the nudity and shagging...

:rofl2: No, but it has some nice tasty Yank cars in it... Plus a lovely error where a big old Yank Tank is being bump started and later it is shown to be an automatic...

You could do that on many two speed autos, though - they had twin fluid pressure pumps in the transmission, one was driven off the output shaft. It built up enough pressure at 20MPH to allow the gearbox to spin the motor over.

From memory it's in the early owner's handbooks for stuff like the '61 Falcon.

Mind you, doing that on a V6 Xantia is likely to knacker the crank pulley!
