2002 Pug 406 2.0HDI Water Temperature Sensor

Unread post by johnway »

Hi everyone,
Need to locate this sensor for replacement but can't see it - help please. Haynes does say that I may have to remove a few bits to get to it but it would be a great help and possibly save a great deal of work if I knew where it was in the first place !!
Many thanks,
John. :?

I think I have resolved the location of the sensor from photos on ebay of thermostat housings - just have to examine mine to see if it is plastic or alloy. Any tips/advice though to complete the replacement would be very welcome.
All the best,
John.

Very likely your engine is the same as the one fitted in my daughter's Xsara. If so, the sender is fitted in the end of the cylinder head and to get to it the trunking which it hides behind will need to be removed. The sender is held in place with a 'U'-shaped clip which needs to be removed upwards.
