It all seems rather pathetic to me.

did you see the one at 7:42 on the portable dyno ....if so what is pathetic about that ?
I take that as a warning about back yard dyno testers and their equipment.....

There are scores of those Dyno disasters on YT, this whole muscle car ethos looks pathetic to me.

Not seen one before....do not normally look at them but a mate sends me a link at times...

Not a great fan of the muscle car thing either, but you have to admire some of the way they get the power out of them. That said, Santa Pod is a true motoring experience.

As a kid I did used to enjoy going to drag racing somewhere around here, Art Arfons and Craig Breedlove being the outstanding contenders but now the whole muscle car thing seems rather juvenile willy-waving and the participants so frequently end up looking like silly buggers.

Well as they say, Torque is expensive, Revs are expensive, but you are given your brains and you cannot bolt on intelligence.

Santa pod is fantastic. I'm not a fan at all of the muscle car thing. My cousin in the States is still into it despite being nearly 50. He was 19 last time I was there in Mississippi and had a 1971 Chevy Nova with a big block V8, all the chrome, a proper hot-rodders job. 450bhp. Twin pipes that exited under your feet. Something a child might draw.

It was the first car I drove on a public road. I was 9. Such is the way in rural Mississippi. I also drove the pickup truck.

One memory that stays with me forever is sitting on the front bench seat of the aforementioned Nova with no seat belt on, going flat out down some rural back road at 130+mph egging cousin Mark on to go faster.
