Nope not me Mr Sticky, I've been there and done that a few years ago with a free gratis activa believe it or not, a 2000 on a V plate with no Mot or tax and only 6 years old.

Yes, they go pretty well with an MBC on them in an old-school turbo sort of a way...

EDIT: Looks like Activas are going the same way as the BX GTi Mi16 went to provide 205GTi engine transplants...

You will be pleased to hear that we are not cannibalising a working car to re engine our poorly 205 gti. The engine we are getting Is another standard 1.6 gti engine and gearbox. The gut that is selling it cannibalised an xm 2.0 tct though [emoji50]

I don't get it. The n/a motors in the Pug 306 and Xsara VTS had more power and are probably lighter and more economical, and I imagine easier to plumb in through lack of a turbo and intercooler.

I think it's more the fact it's a turbo more than anything else Mike...

Turbo sounds good if not actually being good for the intended application...

I can't imagine a turbo'd motor suiting a 205 GTi - not from memory anyway. They are designed to be thrashed up near the rev limiter aren't they?

The 306 gt6 and xsara vts are the most common 2.0 transplant for 205's now, and another popular transplant is the 16v saxo vts/pug 106 gti. There's quite a few of them on the 205 owners. However we wanted no hassle so that means like for like. Did think of a 1.9 gti, but although basically the same the 1.6 is revvier and very little slower so standard it is.
