Would love to ride a pushie about the place for small errands. It's the mandating of helmets here, which deters me - I may or may not choose one depending on the riding hazards, but it's a legal impost here; if you get fined and don't pay the fine they will cancel your driving licence...

I wear a helmet, I have no real problem with it..

It is (surprisingly) not mandatory in the UK...

DVLA have come up trumps and managed to fully understand without any difficulty that I wanted to move the plate on my old V6 to my Activa and then put the old Activa plate onto retention pending someone else with an Activa taking it...

The V6 has had its original plate reinstated which was good as I still had its old plates..

Longest job was sorting out all my paperwork here and informing the insurance companies... Screwing plates onto cars was the easy bit...

DVLA managed the task I set them 100%. I received the retention certificate for the plate previously on the Activa...

That plate will soon appear on another car... Happily another Activa...

I really thought the DVLA would cock up somewhere but it seems not. The Cherished Registrations staff must be on the ball. I'm very happy...

My Activa just washed and wearing her new plates...

This was the first wash since her winter hibernation... Gosh was she mucky...



Now off to karate... It's grading weekend and I'm going for my yellow belt...

Thanks both... She's a good twenty-pacer... Get up close and you start to see the blemishes...

I think the next job after the V6 conversion will be to get the cosmetics sorted... Not by me though. A job to be farmed out as I have absolutely no talent for that work at all and will make matters worse..

But for now I'm thoroughly enjoying her as a weekend car and happy that as he's my only cherished car now I can devote a lot more attention to her...

The C1 blessedly needs very little attention and does the job of daily driver absolutely beautifully... I do love my little C1... For me the perfect daily driver...

That was a difficult grading. Orange to yellow is a big transition from the last of the novice grades to the first of the intermediates...

I'm rather happy this evening and went for a 15 mile bike ride to celebrate...

I still have to and very carefully too... I pushed it a bit a couple of weeks ago thinking (believing) I was better than I am and my world caved in upon me like a house of cards...

I had to take a week off and seriously rest... When I couldn't manage barely half a K in the pool I knew something was badly wrong...

I hate to think where I'd be now if I didn't seriously look after myself as I do now...
