I wonder if it has in fact been done on a Xantia estate?

The blog that picture comes from myntransportblog is a tremendous treasure trove of images and information, quite a bit but not exclusively of Italian vehicles.

Not sure on navigating it too well as yet just started at the start and paged down coming across interesting images all the way.

Seeing as this is the nice 2-tone thread, here's a couple from the Lancia Section

Very nice 2-tone. Looks like it has a Höchstgeschwindigkeit of 90km/h. Got to be "top speed" I guess. German/Austrian Scrabble must have to use bigger boards!

There have been plenty of nice 2-tones posted up here, not sure if this qualifies but I came across it on the H&H Classics Auction listing for a sale at Pavillion Gardens Buxton on 25th February 2015. Estimate £3,000 to £4,000. Be interesting to see whether it fetches anything near that level, but they are getting rarer!

The 2-tone-age is Henley Blue over Tempest Grey, Its a 1989 1.3SL or 1.275SL, with 11,900 miles on the clock

Most Maestros were two-tone....

One of the colours was always rust...

I had a rattan beige maestro, it was C reg, 1986 I bought it in 88 holes in bottom of doors in 90 traded it in in 1990 for a brand new montego. It was bright red when new and bright red and rust at 9 months old. Resprayed under warranty then red and rust again at 2 years old. I never learn and chopped it in for a rover 216gti in brg over grey. It was more Honda than Leyland. It took 2 years to show any rust. That was the end of rovers for me. The 216 was a 3-tone hahahaha

Yep, that'll be it Neil

Davie, I had a an MG Metro Turbo going rusty at less than two years old, which is why I got rid :(

Shame really as all the BL cars of that period were actually otherwise quite good. They were let down by shocking build quality...

Well, I've mentioned it before, and today was yet another example. A two tone Rover 216 did a slow reverse past me when I was parked up in Newcastle, not a GTi but an SLi. It ws that sort of maroony colour on top and the bog standard grey below.

Of course who could forget the launch advert for the 200 series Rover, "up where we belong" Not me for one, cos I was there when it was filmed-South Shields Town Hall steps on a misty day!
