Extra Space

Post by ACTIVE8 »

Image

Four bedrooms ,so house has a good amount of space.
In the picture above you can see a double garage.

Although on top of that it has this extra space.
A three bay workshop.

So space for everyone in the house.
Space in the garage for daily driver, and small jobs, and loads of space in the workshop for big jobs, and projects.

If only it were here in the U.K. at the right price.
Ah well one can dream, or I'll get my coat, and I'm off. :wink:

Is that in ZA? I'm puzzled, because the tree in the back looks like there but the house lacks security.

No it is not in ZA, it is in AU.

Exactly! 8-)

It reminds me of the place I saw on Homes Under The Hammer.
It aired a while back.

The place was a house with a workshop next to it like this property in AU.
Although the workshop was much larger, as you could park a double decker bus in it, and still there was a lot of space to work around it.

So unlike the property in the southern hemisphere it offered more space, but the U.K. house needed more work, and a make over to get rid of the dated appearance inside, and out.

Therefore this property in AU gets my vote, because it does not require any work, keeps the family happy, and keeps me happy with its triple workshop, and double garage. 8-)

Also being located in a warmer climate is also a deciding factor. 8-)

That triple bay workshop looks like it could have a two post lift fitted in it. 8-)

No wonder it's cheap; it's in the sticks! Too far north for comfort in the summer.

Try this. Warm climate, swimming quality fresh water close by, near to Melbourne (2.5 hours on the road; you spend more time covering 25 miles of traffic in the UK).

Currently on TV here they are airing Wanted Down Under, and now Helicopter Heroes Down Under

In Wanted Down Under is shows people checking out relocating down under, and they view several properties, examine job prospects, work out the cost of living etc, and determine if a move is a viable proposition.

Therefore that is why I did a search regarding properties in Australia.

The site I looked into is Right Move, and there were a few of interest on there but the one that stood out was that property I posted pictures from, as for us tinkering petrol/diesel head types it offers a lot.

This is the Right Move link.

http://www.rightmove.co.uk/overseas-pro ... 83983.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Although thinking it through, and taking into account the climate details that you mentioned addo, then it might not be so good being out in the sticks, with very high summer temperatures.

I also subsequently did some more research, and ending up doing that on the site that you linked to addo.

Here is the info on that site regarding the property I mentioned.

http://www.realestate.com.au/property-h ... -118482551" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

So it might not be such a "right move" to go for this one, so the research goes on, for something similar in a more bearable location.

The Homes Under The Home Under The Hammer property was a detached house as I mentioned, but very dated.

While the garage was also detached, with a good amount of space around it for parking, brick built, decent roof, and obviously unlike the decorated house it wasn't dated, as the interior couldn't date! :wink:

Anything north of the NSW border with Queensland, is going to be too hot for practical outdoor living all year 'round. North of the Tropic it's even worse. Atherton is possibly a slight exception.

Bear in mind, any foreigner with a wad of cash can buy into Australian property - I don't think there has been a foreign purchase application declined in the last eight years other than the blatantly criminal. Two million dollars invested carefully in Sydney will gross a capital growth of about $1.5M over the next five years. I wouldn't recommend it to live in, just as a funding strategy. Take your profit and buy somewhere nicer.

Don't think like a tourist, and you'll be right.
