Berlingo Speedo

Post by ds21h »

Hi I have a 2002 Phase 1 Berlingo with a knackered speedo, if I replace it will it show the mileage on the car ie 87000 or will it show the mileage on the replacement speedo?

Many thanks

It will show whichever is greater. So, aim for the donor part with closest mileage and get a receipt from the breaker to back it up.

Depends on if its multiplexed or not. The op has said its a phase 1 on a 2002 model ? Would have thought a 2002 model would be a ph2 ? Typo somewhere ?
All ph2 & ph3 models are multiplexed, only some later ph1 models are multiplexed. Non multiplexed models will display the milage thats stored in the speedo head. Multiplexed models will behave as said above.

what actually wrong with the original speedo, as it could be the transducer at the gear box that is faulty,

Hi it is a 52 plate but last of the phase 1 Multispace models.

The speedo does not work, how would I tell if it is multiplexed?

as i said in your other thread send me the last 8 digits of your chassis/VIN No.,

i do know my friends 05 307 is partial multiplex, and i believe this was the change over year'ish to full multiplex

It's a CAN-VAN multiplex model, the clocks will store the mileage and it's as I describe. However I think the actual production date is probably late 2000 and it was slow to sell.

Hi

Far more likely this will be the sender, or its' wiring.
Easier fix than a new instrument panel and cheaper from the breakers, too.

If it's the transponder, then neither the odo nor the speedo will work. If it's the speedo head, then the odo continues to count. Normally
