When I accelerate and more noticeably when decreasing speed I can hear what sounds like I'm driving an electric car..
Its coming from the offside Im guessing from a pulley/clutch pully?
Has anyone had this ?

ive changed hydrolic thrust bearings, thats where my knowledge ends
I hope I dont need to do another dam clutch

Just got this van...
Noise is coming from crank pulley side or appears to from inside the van
gear changes feel fine

If you're talking about a whine, that's engine speed related, then it could be the timing belt is too tight.
There are also bearings in the alternator, water pump, belt tensioners and power steering pump, any of which could be noisy.
The alternator pulley probably has an over-run clutch, which can fail in a number of ways. If it goes out of line, the belt will be getting chewed up and making noise.
If your noise is road speed related, then look for things rubbing on the tyre, road surface, hub/disc assembly. or shaft.
Don't overlook the obvious... A mudflap catching on a tyre makes a surprising amount of noise.
If the noise seems not related directly to either engine, or road speed, then perhaps it could be turbo whistle.
Can you be a little more descriptive? Most of us haven't driven an electric vehicle, so won't know what it sounds like!

On my last van I had a woo woo sound apparently my gearbox was to blame turned out to be the alternator
although on inspection the pulley felt fine, just went with gut feeling
thats why I was looking for a heads up.
I later had to change the box but thats another story, I'm now so paranoid..lol
I now drive a hybrid, well operate the bonnet OFTEN.

Ive taken the auxiliary belt off the tick tick noise is still there, the crank pulley is a little unstable , ive heard this give trouble
the power steering pulley has some play in it , in and out a few mm and its no exactly smooth, I can feel resistance
but perhaps this is how they feel ?
can the pulley be changed without removing the body?
Although it looks like the lateral movement may mean changing the lot
maybe this is the electric motor noise, its a shame I can't drive it.

The electric motor noise goes when driven without the belt..
I was finally able to get the dishwasher off the drive
The power steering works fine, so it can stay where it it until ive saved for a new
Crank pulley and motor
Ive never done power steering, so if anyone can point me in the right direction
a walk through or youtube ?

I think it's time someone asked what variant we're talking about. What engine/transmission has it got?
How is the power steering belt tensioned?
If there's a tensioner pulley, is it smooth and quiet when you spin it without the belt?
If there's not and the pump is the only pulley driven by that belt, then it sounds like you have a problem in the hydraulics of the steering.
The most likely reason for a noisy power steering pump is low fluid level. You should check this and, if low, establish why. It could be a leak, possibly due to a failing rack, which you do need to know about!
But this is all speculation, given all we know so far is its a van!

Its a 2008 nemo 1.4 hdi diesel..sorry I can't help with the gearbox
the crank pulley drives the alternator and power steering
with the belt removed the alternator, tensioner and static guides
run smoothly
the power steering pulley has lateral play and dosnt feel good when spun
otherwise the steering s good, no leaks and the systems full
Not perfect at full lock one way.
I could live with this but I think the crank pulley needs replacing as I can hear a tic tic tic noise, apparently this would be the pulley.. hope

Whenever I have a noise like this I can't isolate I grab a stethoscope. They can be had for about £5 off ebay or amazon, don't need an expensive one. Just recreate the noise and point the stethoscope at each suspect component until you hear where it is. If you do this make sure you start about 3ft away and move in or you'll need a hearing aid too.

Yes ive used a scope..all around the engine, but it would get messy if I placed it on the pulley lol
