You misunderstand what I was saying (I am a sound engineer too) what people take to be '13 amp' cable is usually far from that. Look at the specs of domestic mains cable. True 13 amp cable is beefy stuff. Most domestic cable is rated at 6 amps. Yes I do use more than one driver to take the 3 kilowatt (RMS) power output but I am talking about sending the signal for 20 metres. Your 6 amp mains cable is just not up to the job. I would lose my job if the HSE were to find I was using such stuff.

I specified at the outset 13A mains cable didn't I ?
The misunderstanding is your own.
As for the current building up faster in the middle of the cable- COBBLERS!
I fear that the twit that wrote that probably got the PHd because his examiners were as ignorant of simple electronic theory as he was.

Wow this is a blast from the past guys, I thought all this stuff had been resolved in '76 or 77[:D] [:D] [:D]. What about Oxygen free copper (yeah I'm just stirring it a bit [}:)] [}:)] [}:)] ) We used to use a rather disparaging term for people who followed such cults they were called Linn Sondeckers after that famously trendy company that made the dogs B*******S turntable (well according to them) and my apolgies to any of you on the forum who own such a device, my preference was always for Michell Engineering's products with SME arms
Meanwhile hasn't this thread been aired before about nitrogen in tyres that is

Thing is, it wasn't resolved then! A 1k rig was considered big back then, now it is commonplace. Glad Tom Sheppard is using cable that is really 13 amp rated - but of course Canford supply speaker cable (4 core, oxygen free) for the same price as mains cable so it is more preference than anything else. Yes, this started with the subject of nitrogen. But this is a motor forum and a John Deere tractor is more exciting to some people than an Aston Martin. Anyway, I prefer toast done on an electric grill (oxygen free toast at that).

If I Recall Correctly, Doesn't your Xantia come with an integrated toaster running on diesel Bernie? All you need are the vents in the wing, a la DS!
