My dad had a princess 2200 hls. Bought new in 1977 on a r plate it was sold in 81 when he went back to vauxhall. It was partially resprayed about 6 times in that 4 years. It was lovely to travel in and to drive, as I passed my test in early 81 and did drive it at times. The earlier wolselys looked better though with the twin headlights and chrome grille. Dads one was white with a blue vinyl roof and the big headlights. I sometimes wonder if thats why I like the c5 so much, as its pretty similar in size and character to the old princess. Large family car, big comfy seats, comfy unconventional suspension, dodgy electrics????, allegedly poor quality, etc etc.

We went through a series of 1800's/ 2200's but never progressed onto the wedge shaped Princess. After the 1800's my dad went for a series of SAAB's, then onto Renaults. His requirement was for "roomy" cars in the main and the early 1800's fitted the bill perfectly.

Struggling to find some genuine 22's so we have to go to the USA for this one. Being the pace car in the Indy 500 was a good marketing tool for car manufacturers and Chrysler's C22 made it in the late 1930's

This has appeared in the thread as a 23, its a Borgward. There could be some other contenders though...the sierra 2.3 non-turbo Diesel has just sprung to mind, so have a go!

No, the Borgward is a much better choice Neil even if it is German..

Actually, the 2.3 oil-burning Sierra does have a French Connection...

...the Oil Burner itself was a Peugeot

Here's a bit of a bid for todays vehicle if you know your frigates, but what is she called?

A type 23 frigate or perhaps something that wore this badge?

Steve pic was taken from this story on the Royal Navy Website so I presume the backdrop is Plymouth being its home port.

Henri Chapron must have been a marvel with a hacksaw look what he made out of a DS23

Keep the 23's coming however flimsy the link, there aren't many "proper" 23's around and it could be the penultimate day for the thread!

For £9.01 there is a model available of the U23

Nice atmospheric pic of the s23 Empire Flying boat.

Now for the Railway Locomotive fan, the Class 23 would immediately conjure up a picture of the "baby Deltic". Not the worlds most succesful locomotive though.
