I think I need the help of an "urban dictionary" to get that one JimCitroJim wrote:That's a bit of a Malteaser
Before 15's are timed out Regie does have an offering to contribute, but it always seems to be accompanied by its mate the 17. So whats the difference between the 2?
Wiki seems to suggest its the headlights. You could imagine a stream of potential buyers filing into a Renault showroom at the time, and being separated into two basic types-those who like round headlights and those who like oblong headlights, and walking out either with the keys to a 15 or a 17.

Thats Paris in 1969 if I am not mistaken and it looks like the MG/Austin/Morris 1100/1300 was a popular choice for Parisiennes/Parisians
Can't see any 15's or now 16's, but there is a TR6!
The photographer Robert Doisneau also took this quite iconic photo for Life magazine "Le Baiser de l'Hotel de Ville"
Joni Mitchell afficionardos may remember the line "In France they kiss on main street, amour mama not cheap display"

edit PS I wonder if Malta is still a haven for the 'older' car enthusiast. Discovered this video, albeit from 1986, of old British cars including a particularly unroadworthy looking Rover. I then moved on to the buses but was disappointed to read this introduction to another video of Malta's old buses...
On 3 July 2011, the giant Arriva group took over the operation of all scheduled bus services on Malta. This ended decades of varied and interesting operations on the island, which were mostly in the hands of unusual and.or ageing vehicles. To commemorate their replacement, here's a snapshot of some of the vehicles which could be found on the island until prior to the handover.

So, Sixteen, 16, 1.6 anyhing goes-should be a boatload of interesting examples before the Renault 16 rides to the rescue and saves the day
Well, its a 1.6, and possibly not now, but certainly in previous times, not too out of reach. I always liked the look of them

The small print in the ad revealsHell Razor5543 wrote:Was that the price? 16 shillings and 60 pence?
With Automatic Gearbox
£760.10.0 plus £159.00 purchase tax.
Manual Gearbox
£690.10.00 plus £144.16.8
But you do get "notably high average speeds and lively acceleration" and "adequate legroom in both compartments"
