Never been to said city/town even though our 'chateau' is on same river, may make a change one day instead of visiting towns on La Loire.

I did discover the identity yesterday and was quite surprised, had no idea whatsoever.
As I cheated I'll not reveal it though.

It seems to have a racing circuit on it. Do the racing cars have to give way to trains or vice-versa?

On the whole, I think I would give way to a Canadian train every time!

You wouldn't want an argument with a Deltic either though.

8-)

That's the old prototype Deltic, the DP1..

It was a bit different from the production Class 55 Deltics.

I have a special fondness for the Deltic engine. When I was an apprentice we visited a World Service transmitting station where Deltics were used as the standby generators. As a special treat we were allowed into the Deltic engine house whilst one was fired up for us. A magic al moment.

I at once fell in love with big diesels, a love that remains as strong as ever. A couple of years ago at a CXM we visited a preserved railway where we witnessed a Class 37 being fired up and was allowed to file past the running engine from cab to cab... Another magical moment.

It started a lot easier than this one!

Looks like it needs new glowplugs

I reckon you have got it so here it is.......

Yes the word seems to be associated with quality, as well as the town/city on the Loir, there is the Place in Paris, a very high class shop in Sydney, a restaurant at the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi, and a metro station in Montreal.

Mind you the 3 Michelin Star Restaurant of the same name here at the Althoff GrandHotel Schloss Bensberg near Cologne

has this interesting choice of starters

With just a single fish finger for a starter, I think I would have to order double spagetti hoops on toast for my main course...

Well its been a while since the last whatsthisthen?

Try this one.

Here is a script from a car advert from the 90's
Joanne......there's something you ought to know....
It concerns the house, the kids, everything really....

...What exactly are you getting at?

Its time to go it alone, I'm starting my own business
John's with me, Ian's with me, and we've got the backing...

....Oh David, That's fantastic!

There's...em...something else...The company car's going to have to go back..

...You're not being a bit..hasty about this are you?
This is "Joanne" having a chat on her carphone while driving

Image

Anyone remember it and what car it was supposed to be promoting?

Regards Neil

Spot on Mike! It was the line "John's with me, Ian's with me and we've got the backing..." and the smug look on "David's" face as he was delivering it that had you swearing at the TV every time it came on!

"Joanne" in the Renault advert is Rosalyn Landor, the "Gold Blend" lady is Sharon Maughan who is indeed Mrs Shoestring.
