53 plate 1.6 HDI Picasso injector removed

not only did the injector finally give in and come out, but the injector sleeve came with it as it is bonded to the injector with carbon build up,

anyone had this and was it successful just removing the sleeve and re/fitting it into the head,

service citroen although they list these separately for under £2 quid each, they call it a non removable tube

well i separated the sleeve from the injector eventually,
put it all back together, started up on three, blipped the throttle there was a metallic GRRRR noise now it wont FLIPPIN start,

it is still cranking over and sounds normal,

any ideas????

Yes those sleeve do come out with injectors, and I used a blow torch to get them off... however, you might of filled the cylinder with oil...

These engines are a night mare, and nothing like our XUD and DW10 engines of past. They need such carefull work! I dislike them with a vengance.. though I have worked on one dooing a turbo replacment and set of injectors too.. it was not a fun job.

Engine top cover incedentally houses the cam shafts, they like cling to the under side of the com cover.

As for your Grr metalic noise, Im not sure. What I was getting on the C4 I worked on was lack of compression after injectors were out. We had to TOW start the car to fire it up, once running though, it was fine since after..

when i did they seals on one injector on my friends 307 1.6 HDI, this injector lifted out with my fingers it was already loose before i undid the fixing nuts,

fitted nes seal and protector bunged it back together, started up no problem and been fine since
