That 14/60 is a good two-tone contender Neil :-D

Maroon and that off-white looks absolutely ace... 8-)

the land crab was the Austin 1800, but they also did a stretchy version named the Austin 3.0lt, did they every do a Wolseley version of the 3.0lt

The 3.0 land lobster was a different car entirely , being RWD while the smaller landcrabs were FWD. I believe it shared the doors and mid-section with the smaller crabs, but nowt else.

This car is a brilliant example of why we have no car industry left in the UK. A parts-bin special that was 10 years out of fashion when it was released....

There was no Wolseley version, thank heavens.

Oh dear, the poor old land-crab has hd a bit of a mauling. Still in 1965 it managed to scoop the European Car of the Year title :)

And guess what, in Autocar's picture special of all of the winners from 1964 onwards, The 1800 they select is in 2-tone! What are the chances of that happening?

Full autocar picture gallery here, includes wins for XM, GS as well

How about a contender from Regie? Guess what was car of the year in 1966, the year after the Austin 1800.

The Renault 16 was a fantastic car...

A real game changer to use a modern term...

I think, the first hatchback as we now know them even though BMC could have made one much before that with the 11/1300 and the Landcrabs...

This car is captioned "Autobianchi Primula" but does look a bit like the "sound thrashing" car from Fawlty Towers
