Looks like a right pita to replace though, 400 sovs!![/quote]Citroen mechanic had a look too and confirmed it was the sticky coating lubricant he shoved torch up and around clutch pedal area and noticed that the lubricant coating was only showing below the spring and not above (he thinks he may have done it last year when I bought the car) I'm glad I didn't have to spend upwards of £300-400 on repairing the clutch, I guess I'm going to have to spend that money on tidying up the bodywork (scratches+2 trolley dents+1 small crease on wing) otherwise the xantia may fell neglected and decide to throw another killer move.
